Albany – Mark D. O'Connor, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 11, 2016. Mark was born September 9, 1959 to James D. and Barbara C. O'Connor.
He graduated from Weedsport Central School, Arizona State University, and Albany Law School. He received an L.L.M. in Environmental Law from Pace University School of Law and a Certificate in the Nonprofit Executive Program from the University of Notre Dame.

Mark worked for many years at the New York Power Authority before retiring in 2014.

Mark is survived by his wife Cynthia and his siblings, David, Daniel, Patrick, Michael, Eileen, Christopher and John O'Connor as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

Mark grew up on a small dairy farm outside of Weedsport, where he, his brothers and sister lived a fun-loving childhood surrounded by much laughter. Mark always loved a good story and enjoyed being with people who made him laugh.

Mark traveled extensively around the globe and was incessantly curious about life. He was a caring person and his wife, family and friends meant the world to him.

Mark also loved the Detroit Tigers and was certain that 2017 was going to be their year.

A celebration of life will be held at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.

An Irish Blessing

May the road rise up
to meet you.
May the wind be always
at your back.
May the sun shine warm
upon your face,
And rains fall soft
upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you
in the hollow
of His hand.
