Mark J. O'Brien

Schenectady- Mark J. O’Brien, 80, passed away at home on Monday, November 2nd,2026. Born in Glens Falls, NY he was the son of the late Gerald and Anita O’Brien. Mark is predeceased by his wife Shirley O’Brien.

Mark was a proud veteran serving in the Army National Guard from 1967-1973 before his honorable discharge. He worked for GE for many years as a shop steward before his retirement. He was involved in baseball coaching for 15 years with the Bellevue Little League. Mark enjoyed hunting and trips to the casino. Mark loved sitting outside with his dog Benny taking in nature. Mark loved that dog.

He is survived by his two sons Jason and Chad O’Brien. He will also be missed by his siblings Nancy Wilson (Bob), Dennis O’Brien (Linda), Steve O’Brien (Sue) and Doug O’Brien. He is predeceased by his sister Eileen and brother in law Bob Chambers.

A graveside service will be held on November 14, 2026 at 10am at Park View Cemetery.
