Marilyn Gail Jones

Marilyn Gail Jones, age 61, of Bristol, Tennessee a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on August 28, 2026, at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport Tennessee.

Born on June 20, 1965, in Red Bank, New Jersey, Marilyn was beloved daughter of the late Garcia “Connie” and Earl Tilson. She grew up surrounded by the warmth of family and shared a close bond with her siblings, including the late Lorraine “Lori” McBride, Glenn Tilson and James “Jim” Tilson, all of whom proceeded her in death.

Marilyn was devoted wife to Howard A. Jones with whom she shared 22 years of marriage filled with love, companionship, and memories. Together, they raised their two children, Lorelai F. Jones and Logan E. Jones, who she loved, cherished and loved and supported in every way. Logan and Lorelai will forever carry the love she gave them in their hearts.

Marilyn dedicated much of her professional life to the dental field, where she worked as dental assistant for over 40 years. Her knowledge, compassion and caring nature made a lasting and positive impact on countless patients. She eventually retired, leaving behind a career marked by service to others.

After relocating to Bristol, Marilyn became an active member in the Doe River Baptist Church, where she found fellowship and continued to nurture the deep faith that guided her life.

She also treasured the time spent with her sister Carol Wright and her husband Paul Wright as well as her many nieces and nephews. To her family and friends, Marilyn was known for warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit.

Marilyn had a special love for the beach and the Virgin Islands, places that brought her happiness and peace. She was predeceased by her beloved dogs, Lilly and Rainy who were always by her side, and she will be deeply missed by her feline companion Tyger.

Marilyn’s life was defined by her love for her family, faith, dedication and her compassion for others. Her passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, but her memory will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
