Marie A. Foley

Marie A. Foley, 86, passed away on September 4, 2025 at the Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland, New York.

Born in Massachusetts to Kenneth and Frances (Tinney) Burke, Marie dedicated her life to educating young minds as an elementary school teacher at St. Jude the Apostle School in Wynantskill, New York. A respected member of the school community, she also ran the C.A.S.E (Community After-School Enrichment Program) program, sharing her love of art and dance with her students.

Marie had a deep passion for the arts, history, and travel. She found great joy in exploring art, architecture, and historical sites all over the world, often sharing what she saw on her many trips with friends and family. After retiring, Marie embraced her creative side, taking up drawing. She loved to draw from prints of paintings and photographs, calling it her "copying." She'd often share her latest pictures with friends and family.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Catherine Foley, her son Thomas Foley, and her brothers, Michael and Kenneth Burke. Marie is survived by many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews throughout the country. Her independent spirit and wide smile touched many lives and will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marie's name to The Sterling and Francine Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, MA, or The Hyde Collection in Glens Falls, NY.
