COLONIE_Marian E. Danforth, 89, passed away on February 17, 2016, at home with her family by her side.
She was born on March 13, 1926, to Elvin and Myrtle (Mitchell) Ilstrup in Minneapolis, MN.
Marian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and her husband raised their family in Niskayuna, NY. Later in life she and Harold relocated to the midwest where Marian enjoyed doing crafts and volunteering in the community. She moved to Florida where she lived for 26 years. She will be dearly missed by those who had the privilege to know and love her.
Marian is survived by her loving children, David (Tami) Danforth, Diane Darling, Elise Danforth, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Harold Danforth; her son, Bruce Danforth; and a son-in-law, Keith Darling.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2016, from 10:00-11:00 am at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home following visitation on Monday at 11:00 am. Graveside services will be held in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Marian's family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff of St. Peter's Hospital and St. Peter's Hospice for their tending care during her illness.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 12 Launfal St, Albany, NY 12205.
