Marialyce K. Hiss

Marialyce (Kamp) Hiss, 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 13, 2018 at St. Peters Hospital with her loving family by her side.

Marialyce was the daughter of the late Leon Jerome and Olga Elise Kamp.

Marialyce was the devoted wife of over 63 years to Fred Hiss, Jr.

Marialyce graduated from North High School in Syracuse and Syracuse University. She was a registered Dietitian and worked for Albany Girls Club, Childs Hospital and Nursing Home and Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home. She was a Deacon, Elder and Clerk of Session at Roessleville Presbyterian Church.

Marialyce enjoyed gardening, reading, traveling to the ocean in Maine and had a love of animals. She loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her brother, Robert Neiss Kamp and her daughter Beth Anne Farkas.

Marialyce is survived by her husband, Fred Hiss, her beloved children; John G.F. (Barbara) Hiss III, Judy E. (John) Giovannetti and David R. (Laurie) Hiss. She was the adored grandmother of; Shawn (Katherine), Scott (Christy) and Brian Farkas, Danielle (Dan) Smyth, Trevor Hiss and Kimberly Hiss. She is also survived by several loving in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funeral, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 11:00 am the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Memory Gardens, Colonie.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Kingsway Manor and St. Peters Hospital for all of their care and compassion given to Marialyce.
