Maria Moore

Maria Moore entered into eternal rest on November 3, 2025, from complications following heart surgery.

Born on February 6, 1962, in Orange County, Florida, she was the beloved daughter of the late Berry Hoganand Florine Rivers. A few years later, she moved to Albany, New York, to live with her adopted parents,James Rivers and Ernestine Hampton.

Maria was a woman of upstanding character, known for her generosity, compassion, and willingness to help others. During her many years in Albany, she served faithfully as a civil servant for both the City of Albany and the State of New York, until her retirement in 2024. After retiring, she enjoyed playing pool and spending time with loved ones—especially connecting with family through video calls.

She leaves to cherish her memory, Children, Kory Hogan, Sarina Taylor (Hogan), Tyesha Moore, and Jamari Wilder. Sister Marie Hogan, Brothers Ra-mear Burns and Earl Frasier. Stepsister Lucina Barney; Brother-in-law Charles Rivers. Aunt Henrietta Edge. Grandchildren, Shyaira Cesario-Hogan, Kory Hogan Jr., Kian Arroyo, Jordan Wilder, and Michael Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Viewing 11:00am-12:00pm, followed by 12:00pm funeral service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at New Comer Cremations & Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road Colonie, NY 12205. Interment to follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery 2150 Central Ave, Schenectady, NY 12304. Immediately following the interment, the repass will be held at Elks Lodge #49, located at 25 S. Allen St, Albany, NY.
