ALBANY- Margery P. Welch, 85, passed away peacefully at Hospice Inn, at St. Peter's on Sunday, May 24, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Marge (Little Poo), was born on June 20, 1929 to the late John and Beatrice Prescott in Albany, NY. Marge will be remembered as a lifelong member of Grace and Holy Innocents Church, where she was active on the Vestry. She was the founder of the Robin Child Care Center and the church's Soup Kitchen, along with her husband, Bill (Big Poo), who were active members for over 30 years. She was also a member of several Episcopal Church boards. Marge will be remembered for her love of gardening, turtles, and spending time at her summer residence, on Kinderhook Lake. Marge cared about everyone and always went the extra mile to help those less fortunate. She will be truly missed.
Marge is predeceased by her sisters; Charlotte Prescott, and Elizabeth Folmsbee.
She is survived by her loving husband, William G. Welch. On May 1, 2015 they celebrated their 66th anniversary. She is also survived by her loving children; William A. (Terri) Welch, Walter (Lynne) Welch, Marjorie Nelson, Wayne (Janet) Welch, Wallace (Marcia) Welch, Willard (Julie) Welch, and Wesley Welch, her grandchildren; Lauren, John III, Billy, Kevin, Ian, Ryan, Corey (Amanda), Alexander (Brittani), Hayley (Arthur), and Jennifer, her great-grandchildren; Briella, Emmalia, and Brady, her brother, Jack Prescott, her close friends; Pat, Jimmy, Janet, and Claudia and Norm Engelhardt, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Services will be held privately at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Her legacy will be her broad sense of humor and her positive philosophy.
