Margarita Gabriel-Ortega

ROTTERDAM- Margarita Gabriel-Ortega, age 63, passed away on May 23, 2026 in her home.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Jose Gabriel and the late Mariana Gonzalez. She was also predeceased by Maria Alice Gabriel and Carmen Gonzalez.

Margarita was a high school graduate and a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, karaoke, dancing, playing cards and dominos. But there was nothing she loved more than spending time and playing with her grandchildren.

Margarita is survived by her husband of 30 years Emilio Ortega; her children: Aurora Santiago (David), Corinne Gonzalez and Chastity Roberts (Chris), Jared Xavier (son in law in heart); 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, 1 brother; 1 niece and 7 nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours on Friday May 29, 2026 from 1 to 3 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend her funeral service following at 3.
