Marcella L. Cross

Marcella L. "Marcy" Cross, 87, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 16, 2019 with her loving family by her side. Marcella was the daughter of the late Michael and Marcella DeMare. Marcella was the devoted wife to the late Raymond G. Cross, Jr. and the devoted mother of her three cherished daughters.

Marcella was a member of a large family, growing up in the city of Albany and attending St. Joseph's Catholic School. Marcella was employed by NYS as Administrative Assistant for Agriculture and Markets. Marcella enjoyed cooking and was known for her apple pie, baked with apples picked from the family orchard. She spent much time at Tupper Lake with family. Marcella enjoyed the mountains, gardening, boating, camping and being in nature.

Marcella is survived by her daughters, Carol (Walter) Rockenstire, Elaine Marks, and Bernice (Eric) Williams; her grandchildren, Joseph J. "JJ" Sikora, Robin Masi, and Michael Williams; her four great grandchildren; her sisters, Eugenia "Jean" Miele, and Louise Draisey; and many loving relatives and friends.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Interment will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 at 12:30 pm at Lagrangeville Cemetery, 6 South Cross Rd., Lagrangeville, NY 12540 (next to the Trinity United Methodist Church).

Donations may be made in Marcella's memory to Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in care of the Executive Director, 2 Mercy Care Lane, Guilderland, NY 12084.
