Mae H. Lengyel

Mae H. Lengyel, 91 Wife of the late Paul E. Lengyel of Slingerlands, died in her sleep Wednesday 25, 2026 at St.Peter's Hospital Surrounded by family and friends who loved her.

Born May 22, 1934 in Burlington, Vermont she was the daughter of the late Valentine F. and Evelyn G. Yankowski

Mae attended St. Joseph Central High School and in later life received a degree from Maria College. She was a devoted housewife and had lived in Germany after the war with her active duty husband.

After relocating back to the US, she was a homemaker then later worked at St. Peter's Hospital Albany, NY managing the volunteer staff well into her eighties until finally retiring. In spare time she enjoyed gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and her yearly trips to Old Orchard Beach Maine with family & friends.She was an amazing mother & friend that always put her family and friends first before her own needs.

She is survived by sons David R. Lengyel of Slingerlands, NY, Michael S Lengyel of Rotterdam, NY & daughter in law Dreama D'Ortona of Rotterdam, NY & many grand & great grandchildren

In addition to her husband Paul, She was predeceased by her son Paul E. Lengyel Jr, daughter Brenda Susan Lengyel & granddaughter Megan Hallenbeck

Per her wishes there will be no services with a private service for family at a later date.
