Luz Mercader

Albany- Luz Mercader, 91, entered eternal life on April 19th, 2026. Luz was very dedicated to her family and especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren. Her Faith was her gift, and she shared her love for music through the years by participating in multiple church choirs. While locally she was a member of choirs at St. Vincent De Paul and then later at All Saints Catholic Church. 

She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann Wilson (Kevin); her son Jesus Mercader (Aissa) her grandchildren Michael Sparks, Andre (Nas) Mercader, Simon Mercader, Kaitlyn Thompson (Dylan), and Kevin H. Wilson; her sister Mesalina Terry and her brother Pedro Bas; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Marcos and Lorenza Bas and her husband Gabriel Mercader and sisters and brothers. 

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Luz’s family Thursday April 30th, at New Comer Cremation's &  Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road. Colonie, NY 12205 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Luz’s Funeral Mass will be held Friday May 1st, at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St., Albany, NY 12203 at 10:30 am.
