Lucinda J. Strasenburgh ( Cindy) from Watervliet NY passed away peacefully at 94 years young on June 25th 2026 in the care of Albany Medical Center with her family at her side.

Cindy was born on May 12th, 1932 in Avon NY and was the daughter of the late Paul F. Strasenburg and Elizabeth Grow Strasenburgh.

She was a Teacher, Player and Lover of all Music. Cindy was a graduate of the Eastman School of Music at Syracuse University. She went on to teach in Syracuse and Albany NY within the Public School System as well as Piano and Violin Privately at home for almost 70 years. Cindy was proud to have sung in her Church Choir and to play her Violin in the Schenectady Symphony for 55 years, Mom would say ”Music is in our lives every day” Can you imagine the movie Jaws without the soundtrack!

She is survived by her Brother Alexander Strasenburgh his Wife Chandra and his son Andrew from Livonia NY. Her Brother-in-Law, William Bentley of Texas. Son David Jackson of Schenectady NY, her daughters Deborah Walton of Albany NY along with Marcia Siver and Husband Nick of Voorheesville NY. Grandchildren to include Lindsey and Husband Griff Rees, Rachael and Husband Tyler Moquin here in the Capitol District, Sarah and Husband AJ Tate in Texas, Taylor and Husband Joseph Dier from Albany NY, Jessica and Husband Gentry Zollars and Alex and Husband Khalid Robinson from California. She also survived by 2 Nephews David and Wife Pam Bently of Virginia, Paul and Wife Sheramie Bently of Texas, 8 Great grandchildren and a few cousins.

She was predeceased by her Sister Marsha Bentley of Arlington Texas.
