Lucinda "Cindy" Egan DeGurahian

Lucinda “Cindy” Egan DerGurahian, 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. Cindy was the devoted wife to the beloved Hyck DerGurahian for 33 years.

She was born to the late James and Winifred Egan in Troy, NY. Cindy continued to spend her childhood in Troy and attended Catholic Central High School, graduating in 1962. After completing some college, she worked as a Fingerprint Technician for the State of New York’s Criminal Justice Department. She also worked for CSEA and held a leadership role. Cindy continued to do so for nearly 40 years, before retiring in 2000. In her free time, she enjoyed keeping up on the latest pop artists like Taylor Swift or Adele and could also be found taking photos credited to her love of photography.

Cindy is survived by her sisters, Deborah Egan (Dennis) Zimmer and Winifred Potter. As well as nephews and niece, Devin Zimmer, Dustin Zimmer and Donel Mataruga.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Hyck whom she missed dearly.

Services for Cindy will be held on Wednesday, May 28th, 2025 from 10:00am to 12:00pm with a service to immediately follow at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd, Watervliet, NY, 12189. Burial will follow services at Elmwood Hill Cemetery, 51 Belle Ave, Troy, NY, 12180.
