Albany – Louise Calogero, 92, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. Louise was born in Vitulazio, Italy on November 21, 1933, to the late Gabriele and Maria Natale.
She immigrated to the United States in 1962. A year later, she met Dante Calogero and on October 4, 1964, Louise and Dante were married. Dante was a loving husband and they were married for over 53 years before his passing in 2018. Together, they had four daughters: the late Josephine (Daniele) LoGiudice, Mary (William) Shell, Donna Calogero, and Louise (Todd Dugan) Calogero. Louise is survived by her 10 grandchildren: Anthony, Joseph (Lindsey), Jennifer (Joseph), Donovan (Sarah), Alexandra (Christopher), Madeline (Jeremy), Nicole (Nathan), Joshua (Giuliana), Daniel, and Nicholas (Chelsea) and her 7 great-grandchildren: Gia, Sophia, Joseph Jr., Noelle Louise, Rosalie, Anthony and Mateo. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Gina Natale, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Louise is predeceased by her daughter Josephine LoGiudice, her brother Carmine Natale, brothers-in-law Charles and Americo Calogero and sisters-in-law Adriana and Emma Jane Calogero.
Louise worked as a seamstress for many years at Cohoes Garment Company alongside many of her dear cousins. She enjoyed sewing in her spare time and making beautiful winter coats for her family. Louise enjoyed cooking pasta and meatballs for family Sunday dinners. She was also well known for her delicious cookies. Louise was affectionately called “Nonna” by her grandchildren and by many others. She enjoyed taking her grandchildren to the mall to shop on weekends and stopping for an ice cream along the way.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremation & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 4-7. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Friday, January 23, 2026, at All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St, Albany, NY 12203. Burial will follow at St Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY.
