Loretta Casscles, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at home with her loving daughter by her side.
Loretta was the daughter of the late Henry and Minnie Mead.
Loretta was the devoted wife of over 40 years to the late J. Leland Casscles.
Loretta was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hudson Falls for many years.
Over the years, she spent many hours doing volunteer work for local organizations, including the Hyde Museum and the Glens Falls Hospital Guild but was especially active at the Old Fort House Museum where she was involved for over 30 years.
Loretta is survived by her daughter, Pamela McCarthy and her grandson, Bryan McCarthy.
The family would like to thank Harold and Linda Carlson for all of their support and care given to Loretta over the years and also Paul McCarty who always kept her busy at the Old Fort House and all the friends who spent time with her over the past few months. She enjoyed those visits immensely.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday October 1, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 pm. Burial will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Community Hospice Foundation 310 S. Manning Boulevard Albany, NY 12208 in Loretta's memory.
