Lois Doris Kluz, 98, of Watervliet, New York, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on August 1, 2026. She was born on March 27, 1928, in Cohoes, New York, to the late Thomas Hicks and Louise Dayhaw Hicks. Lois was the beloved wife of the late John Edward Kluz Sr.

Lois was the devoted mother of Lenny (Elizabeth) Kluz of Lansingburgh, Janice (John) Kelleher of Lansingburgh, Cheryl Nutter (Jeff) Altamont, She was the cherished grandmother of Nellie, Shannon, Danielle, Jessica, Paige, and Jackie, and the proud great-grandmother of Riley, Oliver, and Miles. Lois was predeceased by her sons Norman Kluz and John E. Kluz Jr., sister Myrtle Nadeau; brother, Harold Hicks; and her infant children, Karen Ann and Warren Thomas Kluz.

She will be remembered for her kindness, enjoyment of life, determination, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family and friends. A lifelong and devoted Catholic, Lois held a profound belief in the sanctity of human life. Throughout her life, she lovingly crocheted blankets, hats, and clothing for hundreds of newborn babies, creating gifts that brought comfort, warmth, and love to countless families.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Eddy SeniorCare (PACE) in Latham and Community Hospice for their compassionate care, kindness, and support during Lois's final days.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Friday, August 7, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Latham, followed by interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford, New York.
