Cohoes - Linda Anne Thomas passed away unexpectedly on January 10, 2017. Linda was born on October 9, 1947, in Albany, NY, the daughter of Irving Thomas and Anne Ritter Gaffney.
Linda attended Albany City Schools as a child, and graduated from Guilderland Central High School. Linda had a long career in the health care industry, and retired from New York State after many years of service.
Linda was a longtime resident of the Saratoga area where she enjoyed country living with her beloved dogs. Linda enjoyed reading, swimming, cooking, and travel, especially trips to the beach with friends. She was known for her gourmet cooking and was always appreciated for the wonderful dinners and desserts she prepared.
Linda is survived by her brothers and sisters; David Thomas, Daniel Gaffney, George Gaffney, Patricia Lanotte (Michael), Jacqueline Gaffney (Jeff Cohen), Katherine Gaffney (Erik Smith), Meg Gaffney-Smith (Chip); cousin, Joseph Ritter (Nancy); nieces, Heather, Leyla (Levi), Mackenzi, Hannah, Sarah, and Lauren; nephews, Joseph, Keith, Anthony, Jack, Patrick, Sean and Aidan; grand-niece, Summer and cousin Virginia Overdorf.
She was predeceased by her parents, younger sister, Elizabeth (Lisa) Kiosse, and Uncle Eddie, who was special to her.
A memorial service for family and friends to remember Linda will take place at a later date.
