It is with a great sadness that we, the members of Team 5, announce the passing of Linda Laurange just one month shy of her 72nd birthday.
The daughter of Herbert and Mary Lou Laurange, Linda had resided at the Best Road SOIRA since March of 1995 where she was regarded as “the lady of the house”. Linda initially enjoyed sitting by the window to watch the wildlife and liked to be outside. As time progressed, Linda began to pay close attention to her surroundings often putting forth an inquisitive front for visitors and staff alike.
Linda attended the WWA ARC Day Program before moving on the CDS located in Schodack, NY where she liked Arts & Crafts as well as going from room-to-room to visit her peers. Linda did make friends easily and had made the acquaintance of a woman named “Claire” who would visit Linda on a weekly basis, reading scriptures from her faith (Jehovah).
Linda ultimately “retired” at the close of 2020 where she resumed her role as the house matron, enjoyed massages, leafing through her magazines and weekly music therapy sessions. Linda leaves behind an Aunt, Sister, her peers, and a group of favored staff that happily supported her at her home. Linda will be fondly remembered and desperately missed by all who knew her.
All are invited to attend a graveside committal service on Saturday, May 24th at 10:30 a.m. at Cedar Park Cemetery in Hudson, NY.
