Leo M. Shaw, 66, of Delanson, passed away on November 25, 2016 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 5, 1950 to the late Raynold and Mary (Harbottle) Shaw at Auburn, NY. Leo was employed first at the NYS Comptrollers Office and finished his career at the NYS Gaming Commission. Leo was multi talented and built his home in Delanson where he lived with his wife Maureen. He was always helping others. As his little niece says, "Uncle Leo can fix anything". He will be dearly missed.
Leo was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country in the Vietnam War aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Medal of Good Conduct and Vietnam Service Medal.
Leo is survived by his devoted wife, Maureen (Costello) Shaw; his brothers, James (Daria) Shaw, William (Sherry) Shaw, Dr. John Shaw; brothers and sisters-in-law, Antoinette Shaw, Joseph (Jeanne) Costello, Earl (Beverly) Costello, Jr., Ann-Marie Lange, Kate (Gerard) Matthews, Dr. Kevin (Ann Marie) Costello; mother-in-law, Marie Costello; special aunt, Annette Dawkins and many beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Leo was predeceased by his parents; brother, Richard Shaw and father-in-law, Earl Costello, Sr.
Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 4-7pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. A service will begin at 7pm on Wednesday. Interment will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at 11:00am.
