Lena J. Clark

Lena J. Clark, 93, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026.

Lena was born in Albany on October 6, 1932, the daughter of the late Thomas R. and Christine (Spenziero) Martinez.

Lena dedicated many years of her career to the United States Government, working at the Watervliet Arsenal and later with the Department of the Army in Albany. Following her retirement from government service, she continued working for several years at Union College.

Retirement did not slow Lena down. She devoted much of her time to volunteering at area hospitals, always willing to give of herself and help others. She had a generous heart and found great joy in making a difference in the lives of those around her.

Lena loved to travel and especially cherished the time she spent with her family and friends. In her earlier years, she enjoyed bowling and tending to her garden. Her family was a source of great love and pride throughout her life.

Lena is survived by her son, Christopher D. Mirabile; her daughters, Cindy (Greg) Carr and Debbie Gaccione; her grandchildren, Ashley (Jim) Saville, Matt (Annie) Carr, Alexis, Amber, and Erica Gaccione; and her nieces, Pepita (Tom) Houck and Anda (Michael) Reinisch.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Ingersoll Place for the care, compassion, and kindness they showed Lena.

Lena will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and cherished her.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet Shaker Road, Colonie.
