Laura A. Holmes

Troy- Laura A. Holmes, 53, went to be with her Lord on November 10, 2016 at the Hospice Inn in Albany. The daughter of Rosa (Johnson) Holmes and the late Joseph Holmes, Laura was a lifelong resident of Troy. Laura worked for a time for Price Chopper Supermarket and she was employed by New York State in the Department of Tax and Finance.
Laura was a good natured person, who would do anything for anyone. She was loved by all who met her and will be dearly missed.
In addition to her mother, Laura is survived by her brother Anthony Holmes; her aunts: Lillie (Clarence) Lomax, Joann Davis and Jean (Jerome) Green; her uncles: Casey Johnson, Weldon Johnson and Rubin (Shirley) Johnson and several cousins and friends.
Laura's family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at Albany Medical Center and Hospice Inn at St. Peter's for their loving and compassionate care.
A going home service will be held on Thursday, November 17 at 12pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be held from 10 am to 12 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
