Laura Grenfeld Gervasio

December 6, 1966 – September 14, 2026

Laura Grenfeld Gervasio, of Mullins, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 14, 2026, surrounded by the people who loved her most.

Laura was born on December 6, 1966, in Manhattan, New York, to Laura Grenfeld (Lake) and Arthur Grenfeld. She spent most of her childhood and adult life in the Capital Region, where she built a life centered around her family and the people she loved most.

She was never someone who needed a large circle. She kept those close to her few and meaningful. The people she welcomed into her life were people she genuinely cared about, and she loved them deeply and wholeheartedly.

Laura graduated from Clayton A. Bouton High School in Voorheesville in 1985. She spent most of her career working at Price Chopper, where she found a special place for her creativity and love of flowers as a florist.

Being a florist was so much more than a job to Laura. She loved creating beautiful flower arrangements and taking something simple and turning it into something that could bring joy, comfort, celebration, or love to another person. She especially loved seeing people’s reactions when they received something she had created. Knowing that something she made with her own hands could brighten someone’s day or bring comfort during an important moment meant so much to her.

Laura had a natural gift for putting love into everything she created. Whether she was making a floral arrangement, putting together a gift basket, decorating her home for the holidays, crafting, arranging flowers, or preparing a meal for her family, she gave it her time, her creativity, and most importantly, her heart. You could see the love in everything she did.

After retiring from Price Chopper in 2025, Laura became a homemaker and poured that same love and creativity into her home and family. She took great pride in making her home beautiful and welcoming. She loved decorating for every holiday, surrounding herself with flowers, crafting, and creating things that made the people around her feel special.

She especially loved cooking for her family. Feeding the people she loved was one of the ways she showed her love. If everyone wanted something different for dinner, Laura would make everyone something different. She simply wanted everyone to have something they enjoyed and to feel cared for. Taking care of her family was at the center of everything she did.

Laura was a giver. She found happiness in doing things for other people, whether it was creating a beautiful arrangement for someone, putting together a thoughtful gift, making a special meal, decorating for a holiday, or simply making sure the people she loved were taken care of. She had a beautiful way of giving pieces of herself to others.

After spending many years in the Albany area, including the last 25 years there, Laura and her husband, Frank, moved to Mullins, South Carolina, to enjoy their later years together and begin a new chapter of their lives.

Laura is survived by her loving husband, Frank Gervasio of Mullins, SC; her daughters, Sydney Carrow of Rensselaer and Hannah Carrow of Manhattan; her three stepchildren, Jamie, Shelby, and Kaly; and her brother, Paul Grenfeld. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Dixie and Gunnie, who were cherished members of her family.

Laura’s greatest joy was her family. She put the people she loved first and gave so much of herself to them. She created a home where people were fed, holidays were celebrated, flowers were everywhere, and love could be felt in the smallest details.

She will be remembered for her creativity, her love of flowers, her beautiful arrangements, her generosity, her incredible meals, her love of decorating and crafting, and most of all, the love she poured into everything and everyone she cared about.

Laura didn’t just make beautiful things. She made people feel something. She found a way to give happiness, comfort, and love through the things she created, and that gift will live on in the memories of everyone whose life she touched.

Her family will carry her love with them always—in the traditions she created, the recipes she made, the flowers she arranged, the holidays she made beautiful, and in every little detail that reminds them of her.

Her greatest gift was the love she put into everything she did, and that love will never be forgotten.
