Kevin MacCollam, 76, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Glens Falls Hospital with his wife of 52 years by his side.
Born on April 3, 1949, in Kingston, NY, Kevin was the son of Kenneth and Elizabeth (Schramme) MacCollam. He graduated from Kingston High School in 1967, where he played guitar in the band The Lost Souls. Those early years playing, weekend gigs and working at the Kingston Music Center, sparked a lifelong love of music and gave him friendships he treasured throughout his life.
Kevin went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business management from SUNY Albany in 1971. He began his career as a vice president with several local bank branches before transitioning into the field of Information Technology. He spent the last 16 years of his professional life as the Regional IT Manager for Momentive Performance Materials, a role he found rewarding and greatly enjoyed.
On October 13, 1973, he married the love of his life, Janet (Mastrianni) MacCollam, and together they raised two children, Jamie and Jennifer, born seven years apart, yet remarkably sharing the same birthday. He will be remembered for his deep passion for music, his eye for photography, his love of golf and cooking, and above all, his devotion to his family. Those who knew him best knew of his lifelong love for The Beatles. He often reflected on the quote by John Lennon, “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans,” a sentiment that shaped the way he approached life, family, and the moments that mattered most.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Janet; his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer (MacCollam) Cummings and TJ Cummings of Ballston Spa, NY; and his beloved grandson, Everett Cummings. He is also survived by many cousins who were dear to him.
He was predeceased by his son, Jamie MacCollam, who passed away on October 4, 2017.
In accordance with Kevin’s wishes, no services will be held. His family finds comfort in knowing he lives on in the memories and stories shared by all who loved him.
