Kenneth McKaig Jr.

"Kenny" Alfred Mckaig Jr., 63, of Statesville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at Gordon Hospice House on April 28, 2026.

Kenny was born on January 17, 1962, in Schenectady, New York, and was raised in Voorheesville, New York. In his younger years, he proudly served in the United States Navy before settling in North Carolina.

He built a dedicated career working in water treatment, where he was known for his strong work ethic and reliability.

Kenny had a passion for racing and travel, and NASCAR. In his free time, he enjoyed home improvement projects and spending weekends working motorcycle races. These interests reflect his hands-on nature, meeting the world with a steady, fix-it mindset and an unshakable resolve.

He is survived by his mother, Voila McKaig; his daughter, Taylor McKaig; his sister, Marsha Deere; his aunt, Janice Nugent and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his brother Micheal and father Kenneth Sr.

Visitation will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals Friday May 15th  from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kenny's memory to St. Jude's or the American Lung Association.

Kenny's memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, he will never be forgotten.
