COLONIE- Kenneth J. Fournier, age 72, passed away surrounded by family at AMC Hospital.
He was born in Albany, the son of the late Joseph and Claire Fournier.
Kenny graduated from Cardinal McCloskey High School and attended HVCC. He was employed by US Food Service in various positions for over 50 years, retiring in August 2020.
Outdoor life was his passion. Fishing and hunting were his favorite sports. His most cherished memories were those of hunting with his children and his best friend Wayne and cousin Jimmy. He was a member of the West Albany Rod and Gun Club. Also gardening was a favorite past time for him. It gave him peace.
Kenny could talk to anyone that he encountered. He could hold your ear for hours. He just loved conversation and the company of others.
Spending time with family was top priority. Always attended games and concerts of his grandchildren. Helping with projects, he always felt needed. His sense of humor was always appreciated. He loved his sweets and he would never miss the chance to eat a snow-cone. He was always there. We will miss him!
Kenny is survived by his children: Melissa (Bruce) Knapp and Paul (Julie) Fournier, his sister Theresa (Roger) Murphy and niece Jennifer Riley (Joel), nephew Glenn Murphy, seven grandchildren: Bryanna, Ashlyn, Landon and Jace Knapp and Lucas, Mackenzie and Tanner Fournier, four great grandchildren. Also survived by many cousins and other relatives and friends.
He suffered many ailments but bravely faced each new day. Finally he chose to find peace.
Services are pending at this time and will be held on Kenny's birthday July 24, 2026. Interment will be at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
