Kenneth Douglas Bingham, 75, passed away peacefully on January 27 at Community Hospice with his wife by his side.
Ken was born on February 1, 1949 in Albany, NY to Loren and Laura Bingham. He lost his dad at age 9, leaving his mother to raise him in Lansingburgh, NY.
In 1978 he accepted Jesus, giving him a faith that sustained him the rest of his life. He was a former member of Oakwood Bible Church in Troy and a member of Christ’s Church Guilderland.
Ken first met Karen Stutz in 1982, they married in 1983 and enjoyed 41 wonderful years of marriage. They were blessed with 3 children, David, Stephen and Lydia (Casey) Gray and two grandsons, Isaac and Elijah Gray, all of whom brought him much joy.
He recently discovered a brother and sister. His brother, Paul Chiarello, has been a good support to him over the past few years.
Ken was employed by the State of New York from 1967 to 2002 and served in the Navy from 1969 to 1971.
He had a lifelong love of fishing and loved family vacations at Friends Lake where he could fish with his kids. He was a former member and secretary of Helderberg Bassmasters.
Ken loved his children and supported all of their activities. He even took on roles as soccer coach, Kiwanis soccer program facilitator and CDYSL age coordinator even though he had no soccer experience.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Saturday February 1, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. All are invited to attend his funeral service following at 12 Noon. Interment with full military honors will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
