Corinth - Kathy A. Horton of Corinth, N.Y., age 60. Born on October 14, 1964. Our dear Kathy passed away after a brief illness, at Albany Medical Center, on Friday, October 10, 2025. She passed peacefully, surrounded by family.
She was dealt a challenging hand at birth, being born profoundly deaf. However, instead of letting her disability hold her back, she had a great work ethic and had a long career at UPS. She lived a full life, squeezing the juice out of every day and making the most of work, play and retirement. Much of her enjoyment came from being on her boat, fishing at Lake George and sailing for years with her parents, her dog, Bo, and hanging with her numerous friends.
Like her parents, Kathy was generous to a fault and would literally give you the shirt off her back. Her legacy will continue as she decided to donate her organs so others will live.
As usual, obituaries are only able to summarize a person's life in a few short words, but those who knew Kathy will miss her dearly and remember all the good times with her.
She was predeceased by her parents, Arnold and Gerry Horton; and her nephew, Forest Horton. She is survived by her companion Rosie Bovee, Corinth; Her brothers, Jim (Mary Pat) Horton, Latham and Andy (Jackie) Horton, Morgantown, W.Va; and her sister, Pam (Bronic) Lorenc, Latham; as well as several nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank all the staff at AMC ICU for their hard work, empathy and compassion. If you would like to make a donation in her name, please do so to your favorite charity.
There will be no formal services, but a private gathering of family to honor her life.
