Katherine A. Elston

COLONIE – Katherine A. Elston, 104, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Valentine and Josephine Mackowiak.

Katherine was a member of the Colonie Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and Kuehn Senior Center.

Along with her parents, Katherine was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Elston; son David Elston, and siblings Marie and Paul Mackowiak.

She will be missed by her children Donald (Evelyn) Elston and Barbara (the late Richard) Hahn; sister Clara Adams; grandchildren Donald Elston, Debra Elston, Donna (William) Elston, Richard (Diane) Hahn and Edward (Marie) Hahn; great-grandchildren Brian Miller, Valerie Elston, David Elston, Nicolle Elston, Victoria Elston, James Hahn, Steven Hahn and Edward Hahn; great-great grandchildren Adelynn, Wyatt and Lily; nephew William Adams, Jr.; niece Barbara Adams, and great-nieces Courtney and Daylor Adams.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A calling hour will precede the service from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
