Karen Reynolds, 75, of Colonie, NY, passed away in her home on January 9th, 2026. She was a cherished sister, mother, grandmother, friend, and a faithful member of her church. She will be deeply missed in those quiet moments where her steady presence provided a sense of solidity, comfort, and light.
Born January 13th, 1950, to Clifford and Mildred Lampman, Karen lived her life in the town she called home. She spent much of her career and personal life in support of others and her community. Whether it was looking after the neighborhood children, working with special education students in Colonie schools, quilting for charity with her church group, or caring for her sister, Donna Lampman, through illness and passing, she did so with quiet resilience and understated strength.
Karen leaves behind her sons Scott and Todd Reynolds who she raised with the same steadfast resolve, always putting family first.
With few exceptions you could find Karen with her community at church on Sunday morning and at the bowling alley on Wednesday evening. She loved reading and traveling, especially on cruises with her close neighbors, who are like family to her.
She adored her grandchildren, Corinna and Stella Reynolds, and Mason and Harper Reynolds, and was a loving mother-in-law to Anna Reynolds.
Please join us in celebrating Karen’s life on January 18th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Community Reformed Church of Colonie at 701 Sand Creek Road, Albany, NY 12205. All are invited to attend her funeral service on Monday January 19th at 9:30 a.m. at Community Reformed Church.
