Karen Lynn Arkazana, 75, of Albany, NY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles J. Arkazana; her parents, Francis and Rose Manell; and her sister, Josephine Manell.
Karen is survived by her siblings, Rose Hoffman and Frank Manell; her children, Charles (Sharynell), Carmela, April, and Christina; and her cherished grandchildren: Brittany, Hope, Brian, Kimberly, Alyssa, Logan, Kaitlyn, Madyson, and Savannah Arkazana. She also leaves behind nieces Katrina , Shannon, Marissa, and great-nieces Abigail and Alana.
Karen retired after a fulfilling career that included roles as a teacher’s aide at Sand Creek Middle School, data entry for KeyBank, assistant manager for Mobil, and nurse’s aide at Albany County Nursing Home.
Karen was a woman of many gifts. She was a wonderful cook who passed down treasured family recipes and traditions to the younger generations. Her selflessness, compassion, generosity, and quick wit touched everyone who knew her. She found joy in family gatherings, crocheting, reading James Patterson novels, crossword puzzles, and summer days at Grafton State Park. Her beloved cats were always by her side.
Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
Karen’s warmth, kindness, and love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Viewing hours will February 12, 2026 from 4-6pm followed by 6:00pm service, held at New Comer 343 New Karner Road, Colonie NY 12205.
