Joyce Carol Carawan

Hague, NY- Joyce C. Carawan, age 81, passed away surrounded by family on February 4, 2026. She was born in Wales, England, the daughter of the late Elwin and Elizabeth Monroe. She was also predeceased by her husband Terrence Carawan and her brother David James Monroe. 

Joyce was a graduate of Hague Central School District. She was a volunteer on the Women’s Auxiliary of the Hague Volunteer Fire Department. She worked for many years at the Trout House Village Resort. She was a member of the Town of New Church - Baptist Church in Virginia.

She is survived by her daughter Liz and grandson Sterling; brother, Owen (Christine Riley); sister in law Pat Washington. Also survived by many other relatives and friends. 

All services will be private at the convenience of the family. 

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Town of New Church-Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society.
