Joy B. Wernicke

Joy B. Wernicke, 66 passed away Saturday June 6, 2026 at Berkshire Medical center after a courageous battle of pancreatic cancer she succumbed to complications of pancreatic cancer.

She was born in Great Falls, Montana to the late Donald and Berdetta Wernicke.

Joy grew up in Great Falls before to moving to Las Vegas and eventually settling in Stephentown in 1999.

She loved all animals, in which she owned several including Chickens, a bull, donkeys, cats, dogs and her most beloved was her horses.Animals were drawn to her almost like Snow White.

Joy worked as an assistant manager for Cumberland Farms, starting first in the Stephentown location and later transferring the West Sand Lake Store. She loved her customers and was always going above and beyond. She was an extremely kind hearted, selfless individual who would go out of her way for even a complete stranger.

In addition to her parents, Joy was predeceased by her son Donald ("Donny) Wernicke, and her brother Terrance Wernicke.

She is survived by her partner, Dennis Seitz, and siblings Robyn (Brenda) Wernicke, Nancy (Peter) Wernicke and best friend Amanda Boecker.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday June 16th from 3pm to 6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals 343 New Karner Rd Colonie NY 12205.
