Joshua (Josh) Thomas Shaw of Cohoes NY, passed away suddenly at his girlfriend’s house on Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, in Cohoes NY.

Josh was 30 years old he was born March 5, 1996, at Samaritan hospital in Troy. Josh is survived by his mother, Jeannine LaPointe of Albany and his father, James Shaw Jr. of Cohoes, his brother, James Shaw III and his sister, Brianna Shaw. Josh also is survived by his paternal grandfather, James Shaw Sr. and a maternal grandmother, Theresa LaPointe as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Josh went to Cohoes High School and worked at Edgeco Environmental in Cohoes NY. He was always the life of the party or the joy in the room.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 7th from 4 to 5 pm for the public and a time for sharing memories from 5 to 6 pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd, Watervliet, NY, 12189.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Josh's name to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society or your local animal shelter. Josh was a lover of all animals, especially his cat, Squeaker.
