VOORHEESVILE Josephine "Josie" Spaulding, 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2017.
Born November 6, 1931 , Josie lived in the Voorheesville area for many years. Along with her husband Huck, they started Spaulding and Rogers Mfg. in the late 1950's, and became the world's largest manufacturer and distributor of tattooing equipment.
Josie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She spent the last 4 years living with her daughter Rita at her home.
Josie was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Darwin "Huck" Spaulding and grandchildren, Renee DiCarlo and Joseph Peptis.
She was a cherished mother and best friend to her four children, Rita (Joseph) Peptis, Jay Spaulding, Bobbi (Joseph) DeFranco and Tommy (Mary) Spaulding. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; her sister, Gloria Guarini; sister-in-law, Margaret Verlander and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave). Calling hours will precede the service from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Entombment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
