Josephine M. Malinoski

Colonie- Josephine M. (Geraci) Malinoski, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Grace Geraci.

Josephine enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including playing cards, reading, and spending time with her many friends. She cherished her social life and the wonderful friendships she made throughout the years. She enjoyed her trips to York Beach, Maine with her family. It was a family tradition she loved. This tradition started with her and her own kids and has now carried over to her kids and grandkids.

Above all, Josephine’s greatest joy was her family. Nothing meant more to her than spending time with her children and grandchildren. She treasured every visit, every conversation, every laugh, and all the special memories they created together. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, and she will always be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and friend.

Josephine is survived by her four children, Krista Currie (Richard Eddings), Sarah Van Detta (Robert), Rachel Kayser (James Coy), and Andrew Kayser (Ashley). She was the loving grandma to Livia and Miles Currie, Logan, Ethan, Ella Kayser, Lexi, Thea, and Eli Van Detta. Josephine will also be missed by her siblings Santo Geraci, Mary Geraci Levesque (Jean Jacques) and Nicholas Geraci as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2026 from 4pm-630pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205.

A prayer service will begin at 630pm.
