COLONIE - Joseph L. Therien, age 95, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on June 18, 2018.
He was born in Cohoes, NY, the son of the late Aurora and Claude Therien. Joseph was a veteran of the US Navy, serving during WWII in the Pacific Ocean. He also served in the Civilian Conservation Corp (CCC). He was employed by GE Turbines as a Construction Supervisor where he worked for 38 years before retiring in 1980.
Joseph was predeceased by six siblings; MaryJane Riley, Lucille Kusaywa, Fran Koblensky, Therese Mariano, Doris Fonda, and Henry (Joseph) Therien. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Lorraine; his seven children, Daughters Ranella (Randi), Darlynda, Elizabeth, and Jennifer; Sons Ronald, Mark, and Frederick; and Sisters Helen Yetto and Jeannette Caldwell. He is also survived by many loving Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren.
Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend his calling hours on Sunday June 24, 2018 from 1 to 3 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Monday June 25 at 10 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. Interment with full military honors will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.
