Joseph J. Dilwith

November 9, 1928 — January 3, 2017

Colonie- Joseph J. Dilwith, 88, passed away peacefully after a long illness on Tuesday, January 3, 2017. He was the son of the late Martin and Bessie Dilwith. He is survived by his loving wife, best friend and caregiver Linda A. Dilwith.

Joseph was a General Sales Manager and Registered Sanitarian for Abalene Pest Control Company. He was a National Guard World War II Veteran serving with Battery C, 7th AA Group. He was also a life member and past President of West Albany Fire Company #2 as well as member and past President of Colonie- Albany Kiwanis. Joseph served as Eucharistic Minister, Usher and food pantry volunteer at Our Lady of Mercy and Christ Our Light Catholic Churches.

In addition to his wife, Joseph is survived by his son, Richard Dilwith (Karen) of Oxnard, CA. Joseph is also survived by his sister, Theresa Dott (Tom), his mother in law, Violet Bubniak, brother in law, James Bubniak as well as several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his siblings, James Dilwith, Lewis Dilwith and Mary Clow as well as his first wife Helen.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Carmen Giuliano and Community Hospice for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice, 445 New Karner Rd, Albany, NY 12205 or Christ our Light Catholic Church.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, January 8, 2017 from 3:00pm- 6:00pm at Christ our Light Catholic Church, 1 Maria Dr, Albany, NY 12211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017 at 10:00am at Christ our Light Catholic Church. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
