Jose Eugenio Reyes (Chucho), age 85, passed away on December 26, 2025, in his home, in Albany, NY surrounded by his children and loved ones.
Chucho was born on July 4, 1940, in the Dominican Republic, of late Jose Eugenio Reyes and Isabel Espinal.
Chucho was a fearless entrepreneur, successful business owner, and talented wood finisher. With remarkable courage, he left the Dominican Republic on his own to start a new life, embarking on a journey of entrepreneurship driven by determination, hard work, and hope for a better future. He was known for his charisma, sense of humor, and youthful spirit. He lit up a room with his presence and made all around him feel welcomed. His personality was as sweet as his tooth; always eating ice cream and lollipops. Chucho was hard not to love and was especially adored by his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children Edwin Reyes, Rodes Reyes, Eugene Reyes, Mercedes Reyes, Esmeralda Pascuzzi, Marlin Pascuzzi, Euri Reyes, and Abraham Reyes. And by his grandchildren, Denise Parisi, Hamlet Estrella, Joseph Cabrera, Jason Cabrera, Nadelly Cabrera-Fleurinord, Edwin Jose Reyes, Jose Eugene Reyes, Julian Reyes, Adonis Reyes, Patricia Reyes, Gabrielle Sarda, Jesus Sarda Jr., Haley Reyes, Ayden Reyes, Luis Angel Garcia and Ayanna Garcia.
He will join his son, Jose Emilio Cabrera, in “METS” heaven!
