COHOES-Johnny L. Oliver, 69, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017, surrounded by the love of his family.
Johnny was born on January 7, 1948 in Comer, AL, to the late Judge and Fronnie Oliver. Johnny married the love of his life, Irene, on March 15, 1986. They were married for 30 years, and together they had one son, Johnathan Oliver. He is also survived by one son, John D. Oliver. Johnny was a member of the Heavenly Echoes Gospel Group for over 40 years. Johnny will be remembered for his love of fishing, playing music, watching westerns with his son and brother-in-law, and cooking. His passion in life was his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Irene, his two sons; John, and Johnathan Oliver, his two sisters; Mattie Oliver, and Mary Young, his sister-in-law, Janet (Mark) Waters, and a host of family and friends.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Thursday, January 19, 2017, from 10:00am-12:00pm with a service to immediately follow. Burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery.
