John J. Voss Jr., 74, of Delmar, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at Delmar Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on August 23, 1951, in Albany, New York, he was the son of the late John J. Voss Sr. and Ethel M. Voss.
Mr. Voss attended Albany High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he worked as a truck driver for Aiello Produce and held various part-time jobs throughout the years to provide comfortably for his family. John was an exceptional cook, and food was truly his love language. His sauce was legendary among family and friends, and he found great joy in preparing meals that brought people together. He was a simple man who valued family deeply and loved his children and grandchildren in his own quiet, enduring way.
He is survived by his daughters Diane and Jodi; his son John; his cherished grandchildren John Anthony, Travis, Jennah, Miya, and Giovanni; and his great-grandson Romeo. He is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews, including Donna, Scott, and Heidi; his longtime friend Maryann; his sister Barbara; and Diane Tobia, who remained in his heart throughout his life.
He was predeceased by his beloved granddaughter, Jamie Nicole; his parents, John J. Voss Sr. and Ethel M. Voss; and his sisters Shirley, Janice, Candy, Francine (Lu-Lu), and Gloria.
John will be remembered for his devotion to family, his quiet strength, and the lasting impact he had on all who knew and loved him.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Memory Gardens, 983 Watervliet Shaker Road, Colonie. John will be remembered for his love of family, his strength, and the lasting impact he had on all that knew him.
