John H. Sanders

John Sanders, 78, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Samaritan Hospital. He was born on October 13, 1945, in Troy, NY. He attended Tamarac High School and then earned an associate’s degree from Hudson Valley Community College. He then served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970. He retired in 2004 from the Watervliet Arsenal where he was a quality control engineer. John was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting deer and turkey as well as fishing. His jovial and boisterous attitude will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen (Mahar) Sanders of Eagle Mills, NY, his son, Jeff (Robyn) Sanders of Loudonville, NY, his son-in-law, L. Andrew Hasty of Troy, NY and he was predeceased by his daughter, Melissa B. Hasty of Troy, NY; 3 grand-children, Allison and Tyler Hasty of Troy, NY and Dylan Sanders of Loudonville, NY. He is survived by his brother, Ronald (Lolita) Sanders of Eagle Mills, NY. Robert (Jane) Mahar of Farmington, NY and his nieces and nephews.

No services will be held. Internment will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY at a later date.
