Listen to Obituary

John Edward Hyatt passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025. He was born on February 7, 1940, in Albany, NY to George and Margaret Hyatt. John, referred to lovingly as Jack, spent nearly his entire life in the capital region. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Richard and George, his sister Beverly, and his beautiful and loving wife of over 40 years Mary Hyatt. Jack leaves behind many friends and family including his daughter Stephanie Sheehan (Denis), son Jon, grandchildren Kayla, Denis, Conor, Jon, Zachary, Marissa and Christian, along with nephews Richard and David and nieces Colleen, Kerry, Adrienne and Elaine.

Deepest sympathies are also extended to his partner of 20 years Kay Gudz who he loved every day. Jack was a member of the Joseph Zaloga American Legion Post. Jack was a man of faith who had the deepest love and respect for God and his family. To know him was to know true strength, love, patience, and kindness. He will forever be missed by the ones who are still here to remember him, and the family takes solace in knowing he has reunited with his wife Mary and all the family that are no longer with us. We will miss you and will see you down the road.

All who wish are invited to attend a remembrance at New Comer Funeral Home on New Karner Rd. in Colonie on September 26, 2025 from 3-5.
