John Michael (Kohutka) Horton passed away on May 23,2026. He was born in Pottsville, PA on April 16, 1963 to the late George and Alice (Monahan) Kohutka.
John Michael graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School in 1981 and Wilma Boyd Travel School in Pittsburgh. His career accomplishments include FedEx, his own construction business, rehabbing the famous Actors Studio in Manhattan, and owner of Watergate Tapes Music Store in Long Island. Afterward, he became a truck driver and had a passion for singing which is how he crossed paths with his future spouse of 24 years, Tony Horton at a karaoke show that he was hosting. Together they owned and operated Krankit Karaoke Kafe for 15 years in Wichita Falls TX before retiring to Saratoga Springs NY.
John Michael aka Mick Larkin possessed a stature that everyone in the community respected. He will always be remembered as a kind fatherly figure to many. Snowmobiling, camping, and music were his passions.
He is survived by his spouse, Tony Horton, son Timothy Kohutka, sisters Alice Dougherty (Stephen), Patricia (Jeffrey) Arnold, brothers George Kohutka, and Joseph Kohutka (Sandra), nieces and nephews.
A private family memorial will be observed. In lieu of flowers, contributions to your local humane society are encouraged.
