John E. Palmer, 62, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026 after a long illness at Collar City Nursing Home. Born in Albany, New York, John was a vibrant soul who touched the hearts of many throughout his life.

He graduated high school from La Salle Institute in Troy, NY. Following his education, he started working for New York State and assisted within multiple departments. 

John is remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, which never failed to light up the faces of those around him. His infectious smile and warm spirit added joy to the lives of friends and family alike. With a diverse love for music, John often filled the air with melodious sounds while playing with his beloved dogs. He forged countless happy memories in the mountains, where he enjoyed camping, exploring the great outdoors, and sharing the beauty of nature with his furry companions.

John was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Marilyn Palmer. Their legacy lives on through the stories and memories cherished by John’s family and friends.

He is survived by his loving husband, Stephen Busche, and his siblings: Christine Palmer “Nin” of York, PA, Gary (Joni) Palmer of Nakomis, FL, and Barb Palmer of Rensselaer, NY. John’s family will hold his memory close to their hearts, cherishing the moments they shared and the love that defined their bond.

As we remember John E. Palmer, let us celebrate a life filled with laughter, love, and adventure that inspired everyone he met. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
