Joanne von Linden

Esperance, NY – Joanne von Linden, 80, of Esperance, NY, beloved wife of the late Peter von Linden, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, May 30, 2025. Born in Cobleskill, NY on April 2, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Leland Holmes and Freida Shaffer.

Joanne was a strong, dedicated mother who tended to her family's needs with the utmost love and care. Joanne worked as a Career Counselor for the State of New York. She enjoyed playing the piano and violin. Joanne is survived by her devoted children, David Aker (Rachel), of Murfreesboro, TN, Rob Aker (Rose), of Murfreesboro, TN, and Julie Aker of Colonie, NY; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Dakota Aker (Katelyn) and Katherine Galvin (Matthew); her two great-grandsons, Grayson and Dawson; former daughter-in-law Maria Aker (Al Kuhn). Joanne’s family would like to recognize and is very appreciative of the loving and devoted care given to our mom by Rose Skelly.

In accordance with her wishes, services will be private. Interment will take place beside her beloved Pete in the Old Stone Fort Cemetery, Schoharie, NY.
