Joan Maloney Sheffield

Joan Maloney Sheffield, 82, passed away on March 25, 2026 at Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Colonie.

Joan worked in Management for Herman's World of Sporting Goods and retired from her job with New York State. She was a devoted member of the Al Anon Family Groups and will be missed by many friends.

She was predeceased by her first husband Frank Maloney, and her brother, Kelton Hiltsley (Arlene).

Joan is survived by her second husband, William Sheffield; her son and daughter in law, Patrick and Patricia Maloney; siblings, Judy Viscusi (Paul), Carolyn Mizerek (Leonard), Timothy Hiltsley (Narda); niece and nephews, Christiana and Jonathan Viscusi, and Scott Hiltsley; and Bill's extended family.

Her family would like to extend their gratitude to the entire staff at Shaker Place for their kindness, care and compassion shown not only to Joan, but to us during these past 2 1/2 years. We are forever grateful for each of you.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at St Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd, Latham, NY 12110. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice in Joan's memory would be appreciated.
