Joahkim Marquise Dennis, age 19, was born on July 4, 2006. As the youngest of eight children, he brought joy, energy, and light into his family from the very beginning. His presence was a gift, and his life was filled with purpose, passion, and promise.

Joahkim was a proud graduate of Shenendehowa High School, Class of 2024. During his time there, he balanced both academics and athletics with determination and discipline, achieving honors while competing on the junior varsity Basketball, Track and Field, and Cross Country teams. He was admired by coaches, staff, and teammates for his strong work ethic and kind spirit.

Beyond athletics, Joahkim was deeply committed to service and community. He was an active participant in the Southern Saratoga Chapter of the Black and Latino Achievement Program (BLAP), where he contributed through mentorship, youth empowerment, and educational initiatives at the Southern Saratoga YMCA. His dedication to uplifting others reflected the depth of his character.

Joahkim also pursued his passion for culinary arts, earning a certificate from BOCES in 2024. He had a natural creativity in the kitchen and found joy in preparing meals, often bringing people together through his love of food. Whether cooking for loved ones or trying new recipes, it was another way he expressed care and connection.

His love for basketball remained a constant throughout his life, reflecting his drive, discipline, and competitive spirit. Whether on the court or supporting from the sidelines, the game was always close to his heart.

A dedicated and hardworking young man, Joahkim was employed at Speedway, where he recently earned a promotion to Assistant Manager, an accomplishment that spoke to his leadership, commitment, and determination. At the same time, he was pursuing a degree in Business Management at Hudson Valley Community College, working toward building a bright and successful future.

Joahkim is survived by his loving parents, Eliakim Dennis Sr. and Tawana Dennis; his grandparents, Barbara Dennis and Beverly Jefferson; his siblings, Eliakim Dennis Jr., Nia Rozier, Olayuwon, Jeremiah, Jada, Jade, and Heaven; his niece, Ariyah Rozier; his nephews, Xavier and Messiah Dennis; his close friends, Dominic Reynolds and Nicholas Natalie; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Joahkim will be remembered for his ambition, his compassion, and his passion for life. He touched countless lives with his presence, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
