Jerome Chislom

Jerome Chislom was born October 15, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late Dorthy Mae and James Chislom. Jerome received his education in the Miami and Philadelphia School system. He graduated from Thomas A Edison High School in Philadelphia, PA.

Upon completing high school, Jerome was inducted into the United States Air Force. July 20, 1966, Jerome was stationed at Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls, Texas. His specialty was an APR cook.

Jerome worked at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center for thirty years, GE for eighteen years, and Troy CEO for twelve years.

Jerome played many roles in our lives from father, brother, uncle, friend/buddy etc. There was nothing Jerome wouldn't do for someone who needed help. What a precious jewel! He was loved by all and will be missed by his family.

Jerome is survived by a son Aaron Chislom of Albany, a granddaughter Shatterah Chislom of Ravena; four sisters Bernadette Byrd of Albany, Brenda Temple of Niskayuna, Kim Harvey of New Orleans, Karen Chislom of New Jersey; three brothers Lawrence Frazier and Glenn Davis of Philadelphia, PA, Robert Chislom of Upper Dublin, PA; a special cousin Deborah Chislom of Philadelphia, PA; three nieces Kisha Temple of Niskayuna, Kimberly Smith of Washington, Ashlee Harvey of Massachusetts; four nephews Alexander Byrd of Albany, William J. Temple (Vontoyia) of Latham, Reginald Temple (Iman) of Apalachin, and Michael L. Temple (Tasha) of Albany.

Jerome has 16 grand nieces and nephews, Robert, Shontavia, Cyress, Sherod, Michael, Shekinah, Xavier, Mishayia, Sadia, Elijah, Elana, Anyis, Miani, Emmanuel, Elias, and Mathan. As well as a host of family, colleagues and friends.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, from 10:am - 11:00 am, with the funeral service taking place at 11:00 am at New Comer Cremations $ Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet NY 12189. Burial will follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
