Listen to Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jennifer Sabatini of Glenville, New York, who died the evening of Saturday April 11, 2026, just eight days after celebrating her 48th birthday.

Born on April 3, 1978, in Schenectady, New York, Jennifer was loved by a wide circle of family, including her devoted father, James Sabatini, her mother, Susan Sabatini, who lives in Arizona, and her cherished “mom2,” Karen Sabatini whose steady love and support were a constant in Jennifer’s life. From the start, she met life with strength and determination. Jennifer’s experience with cerebral palsy and health challenges demonstrated resilience and showed that life can be fulfilling. Jen was known for her warm smile, courage, determination, and feisty spirit. She formed meaningful connections with others through companionship and shared experiences.

In earlier years, she especially enjoyed bowling, country music, watching Yankee baseball and other activities that brought her great happiness and a sense of accomplishment. As her health weakened later in life, Jennifer became nonverbal and non-ambulatory, yet her spirit, presence, and capacity to give and receive love never diminished. She continued to touch the lives of those around her in quiet but powerful ways, and her family will remember her for her resilience, strength, and enduring heart. Jennifer resided at Paul Christian House, a community home dedicated to individuals with special needs, operated by Liberty ARC (formerly known as Schenectady ARC). She found herself among devoted staff and fellow residents who offered her understanding and kindness. Jennifer’s family is deeply grateful for the care, advocacy, and friendship shown to her each day.

Survived by parents James and Karen Sabatini, Susan Sabatini, siblings Samantha Sabatini, Jeremy Logan, Geoffrey and Megan Searl, Brittany and Jason Furman; her End-of-Life Doula aunt Gina Sabatini and her husband Joe’Pa Malik. Nieces and nephew; Alyssa McCann, Kaycee McCann, Livy Logan, and Geoffrey James Searl; as well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who remember her fondly.

Before her passing, she had experienced the loss of her grandparents—Aldo and Edna Sabatini, Vincent Sr. and Rita Lucier, and Ed and Carol Pucunas—as well as her uncle Vincent Jr. Lucier, aunt Kate Lucier, aunt Linda (Lamme) Sabatini and cousins Kevin and Janet Lucier.

Visitation scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to noon, followed by her celebration of life service from noon to 1:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Newcomer Funerals & Cremations, located at 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205. A committal for her final resting place will be private.

In lieu of flowers, you may honor Jennifer’s memory with donations to the Liberty Foundation, ASPCA Schenectady, Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or another nonprofit organization of your choice. The family extends our most sincere appreciation to the support staff (past and present) at Paul Christian House for their unconditional support and relentless efforts to make it a “Paul Christian Home” and not just a house. The Angels of Jane Drive are all so lucky to have so many of you that care so deeply. Thank you to Ashley Bouck, Care Manager from Care Design NY for always finding the best support resources for her. The family extends sincerely thanks to Dr. Arthur Stevens at the New Dimensions in Health Care. Also, to Residential RN Emily LaDuke for her above and beyond medical support, kindness and always looking at the human facture not only Jen, but for all your consumers. Thank you to the physical therapy and occupational therapy staff for keeping Jen in motion. Jennifer shared her love for all. She brought immense joy to those around her, and words cannot capture the profound sense of loss caused by her passing.
